Matt Nguyen is a Vietnamese American and Texas A&M 2020 graduate hailing from Houston, Texas. Since getting involved with VSA back in 2016, he’s been consistently inspired to push himself forward and beyond in his leadership, academic, and professional journey by his peers and everyone else he’s met within the community. He always relishes an opportunity to learn and grow while simultaneously providing those same opportunities for other up and coming leaders. He’s been involved through numerous positions at his local TAMU VSA as well as with other regional VSA organizations and UNAVSA, where he currently works as their Associate Director for their upcoming UNAVSA-18 leadership conference. As UVSA South’s current president, he aims to provide a welcoming and enriching environment where any and all individuals who choose to get involved with the organization at any capacity are able to obtain something valuable and everlasting, whether that be the leader confidence to move forward fearlessly, the professional or academic knowledge to push onward, or meaningful relationships with peers that support them in all of their endeavors. Outside of VSA, Matt works as a Software Engineer and enjoys running, photography, videography, and traveling the world with his friends and family.
